Cleansing from Skin Diseases

Then the LORD said to Moses, “This is the law for the one afflicted with a skin disease 1on the day of his cleansing, when he is brought to the priest. Then the priest shall command that one of the birds be slaughtered over fresh water 2in a clay pot. The one being cleansed must wash his clothes, shave off all his hair, and bathe with water; then he will be ceremonially clean. Afterward, he may enter the camp, but he must remain outside his tent for seven days. Then the priest is to take one of the male lambs and present it as a guilt offering, along with the log of olive oil; and he must wave them as a wave offering before the LORD. The priest is to take some of the blood from the guilt offering and put it on the right earlobe of the one to be cleansed, on the thumb of his right hand, and on the big toe of his right foot. The rest of the oil in his palm, the priest is to put on the head of the one to be cleansed, to make atonement for him before the LORD. Lev 4:262Co 1:21-22Eph 1:17-18Exo 29:7Lev 4:31Lev 5:16Lev 8:12 Then the priest is to sacrifice the sin offering and make atonement for the one to be cleansed from his uncleanness. After that, the priest shall slaughter the burnt offering Lev 14:122Co 5:21Lev 12:6-8Lev 5:1Lev 5:6Rom 8:3 and offer it on the altar, with the grain offering, to make atonement for him, and he will be clean. If, however, the person is poor and cannot afford these offerings, he is to take one male lamb as a guilt offering to be waved to make atonement for him, along with a tenth of an ephah of fine flour 5mixed with olive oil for a grain offering, a log of olive oil, Lev 5:7Lev 12:8Pro 17:51Sa 2:82Co 8:122Co 8:9Jas 2:5-6Job 34:19 and two turtledoves or two young pigeons, whichever he can afford, one to be a sin offering and the other a burnt offering. On the eighth day he is to bring them for his cleansing to the priest at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting before the LORD. Lev 14:10-11 The priest shall take the lamb for the guilt offering, along with the log of olive oil, and wave them as a wave offering before the LORD. Lev 14:10Lev 14:12

And after he slaughters the lamb for the guilt offering, the priest is to take some of the blood of the guilt offering and put it on the right earlobe of the one to be cleansed, on the thumb of his right hand, and on the big toe of his right foot. Signs of Home Contamination

Then the LORD said to Moses and Aaron, “When you enter the land of Canaan, which I am giving you as your possession, and I put a contamination of mildew 7into a house in that land, Deu 32:49Gen 17:81Sa 2:6Amo 3:6Deu 12:1Deu 12:8-10Deu 7:1-2Deu 7:15 the owner of the house shall come and tell the priest, ‘Something like mildew has appeared in my house.’ Psa 91:10Deu 7:26Zec 5:41Ki 13:341Sa 3:12-14Jos 7:21Pro 3:33

The priest must order that the house be cleared before he enters it to examine the mildew, so that nothing in the house will become unclean. After this, the priest shall go in to inspect the house. 1Co 15:332Ti 2:17-18Heb 12:15Rev 18:4

He is to examine the house, and if the mildew on the walls consists of green or red depressions that appear to be beneath the surface of the wall, Lev 13:19-20Lev 13:3Lev 13:42Lev 13:49 the priest shall go outside the doorway of the house and close it up for seven days. Lev 13:50

On the seventh day the priest is to return and inspect the house. If the mildew reappears in the house after the stones have been torn out and the house has been scraped and replastered, 2Pe 2:202Pe 2:22Ezk 24:13Heb 6:4-8Jer 6:28-30Jud 1:12 the priest must come and inspect it. Lev 13:51-52Zec 5:4

If the mildew has spread in the house, it is a destructive mildew; the house is unclean. It must be torn down with its stones, its timbers, and all its plaster, and taken outside the city to an unclean place. 1Ki 9:6-92Ki 10:272Ki 17:20-232Ki 18:42Ki 25:25-262Ki 25:4-12Ezk 5:4Jer 52:13 Anyone who enters the house during any of the days that it is closed up will be unclean until evening. Cleansing a Home

If, however, the priest comes and inspects it, and the mildew has not spread after the house has been replastered, he shall pronounce the house clean, because the mildew is gone. 1Co 6:11Hos 6:1Job 5:18Lev 14:3Luk 7:21Mrk 5:29Mrk 5:34

He is to take two birds, cedar wood, scarlet yarn, and hyssop to purify the house; Lev 14:4 and he shall slaughter one of the birds over fresh water in a clay pot.

Then he shall take the cedar wood, the hyssop, the scarlet yarn, and the live bird, dip them in the blood of the slaughtered bird and the fresh water, and sprinkle the house seven times. Psa 51:7 And he shall cleanse the house with the bird’s blood, the fresh water, the live bird, the cedar wood, the hyssop, and the scarlet yarn.

Finally, he is to release the live bird into the open fields outside the city. In this way he will make atonement for the house, and it will be clean. Lev 14:20Lev 14:7

This is the law for any infectious skin disease, for a scaly outbreak, Lev 14:32Lev 15:32Num 5:29Deu 24:8Lev 11:46Lev 13:30-31Lev 14:2Lev 6:14 for mildew in clothing or in a house, Lev 13:47-59 and for a swelling, rash, or spot, Lev 13:2 to determine when something is clean or unclean.
